SFTP file browser

Browse a host's files in a tab next to its terminals, like WinSCP or FileZilla, over the same SSH credentials and jump chain the host already uses.

Open it

  • On a host card's menu, choose Explore SFTP.
  • In an SFTP tab, the tab menu's Duplicate (new SFTP session) opens a second browser on the same host.

The tab shows a folder icon. While it connects, you see the same step-by-step progress as a terminal.

Find your way around

  • The breadcrumb above the list shows the current path. Click any part of it to jump there.
  • Double-click a folder to open it. Up one folder and Refresh are in the toolbar.
  • Click to select, and use ⌘ / Ctrl or Shift to select several. The checkbox column selects all.
  • Symlinks are marked, and the list shows Size and Modified for each entry.

Right-click menu

On a file or folder: Open (folders), Edit (text files), Download…, Rename…, Delete…, Copy, Cut, Open in Terminal and Refresh. With several items selected, the actions apply to all of them and show the count.

On empty space: New Folder…, Upload Files…, Upload Folders…, Paste, Paste to Local…, Open in Terminal, Select All and Refresh.

Copy, cut and paste

The SFTP clipboard is shared by every SFTP tab. Copy in one host's tab, switch to another host's tab and Paste, and the files are copied server to server. Cut moves them instead. Copying only remembers what you picked; nothing is read until you paste.

  • Paste with nothing copied in the app pastes files you copied in Finder or Explorer, which uploads them.
  • Paste to Local… downloads what's on the SFTP clipboard to a folder you choose on this computer.

Good to know

  • Delete removes folders with everything inside them, and there's no undo.
  • Disconnect in the toolbar closes the SFTP connection.
