Clickable links
URLs printed in a terminal are links. Open them in your browser without copying and pasting.
How to use it
Hold ⌘ (macOS) or Ctrl (Windows, Linux) and click a link. While you hover over a link, a hint shows the shortcut.
A plain click doesn't open anything, so selecting text that contains a URL doesn't launch your browser by accident.
What counts as a link
http://andhttps://URLs that appear in the output.- Hyperlinks that programs print with the OSC 8 escape sequence, where the visible text differs from the address (for example
ls --hyperlink).
Only http and https addresses open. Other schemes, such as file: or ssh:, are ignored for safety.
Tips
- Running a dev server over SSH? Pair the link with a Port Forwarding rule so the address opens on this computer.
