Broadcast input
Type once and send every keystroke to all the panes of a split tab.
Broadcast input
Type once and send it to every pane of a split tab — run the same command on several servers at the same time, like cluster SSH or tmux's synchronized panes.
Turn it on
In a tab with two or more panes, do one of these:
- press ⌘⇧B (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+B (Windows, Linux);
- click the Broadcast input button in the terminal header;
- right-click a pane → Broadcast input to all panes.
Every pane that receives input gets an amber frame and a Broadcast badge, and the tab shows a broadcast icon. Press the shortcut again, or choose Stop broadcasting input, to turn it off.
Leave a pane out
Click a pane's Broadcast badge to leave that pane out. The badge changes to Left out. Click it again to include the pane. The right-click menu has the same option: Leave this pane out of broadcast / Include this pane in broadcast.
What is sent
Typing, pastes and inserted snippets go to every included pane. Things that belong to one pane stay there: mouse clicks, focus changes and the automatic replies a terminal sends to programs are never mirrored.
Tips
- Open the panes with Split panes → Split right with… to put a different host in each one.
- Leave out a pane that shows logs or a dashboard, so your keystrokes don't land in it.
- Check each pane before pressing Enter on something destructive. The servers may not all be in the same state.
Limits
- Broadcast works within one tab. Panes in other tabs are not affected.
- It is a Pro feature.
